I made the neck from some scrap walnut from a shelving project I did for Amy. I did a proper scarf joint for the headstock to ensure it would be strong. Made a jig to do the cutting and it worked well. Oak fretboard. The headstock has great figure for a piece of scrap!
I bought the resonator cone from a guy who hand makes them in Georgia. Charles Atchison is the makers name. Spins them himself. Very nice quality. I turned the bridge biscuit on my lathe (rosewood scrap). Nut and bridge are handcut and shaped bone.
Tailpiece is a baby fork reshaped and polished up. The vents are sink basin screens. I think they look perfect for the body.
I still need to wire in the lipstick pickup for some electric sounds, but it is loud acoustically.
